Story
This is a realistic, emotional slice-of-life romance manga based on a true story.
The story begins under a bridge. The boy is walking from the left side underneath the bridge when he notices a beautiful girl approaching from the right side of the road outside the bridge. She is casually walking while talking on her phone, wearing a baggy two-piece outfit. The boy looks at her and quietly thinks, “So beautiful.” She walks past him nonchalantly, unaware of the impression she has made on him.
Some time later, the boy unexpectedly sees the same girl walking inside his house. Shocked and confused, he asks his mother, “Is there a new girl who is going to live here on rent?” He slowly discovers that her name is Ridhima.
One day, he sees Ridhima crying on the stairs. He wants to approach her, ask why she is crying, and offer his shoulder, but he becomes hesitant because his family is nearby. His mother eventually notices her and helps her instead. Later, Ridhima decides to leave the house and live somewhere else. The boy repeatedly asks her to stay, saying, “Yaar, aap yahi pe ruk jao, kuch nahi hota,” but she still leaves.
Six months later, Ridhima returns. The boy asks his mother, “Kya Ridhima aa gayi hai?” He immediately goes to the first floor and sees her baggage outside the door. He realizes she has come back.
A few days later, the boy’s cat, Gudiya, injures her paw. He asks Ridhima to accompany him to the veterinarian, but she initially sends her friend instead. The next day he asks again, and this time she agrees to go with him on his scooty.
During their first ride together, they talk and slowly get to know each other. At the veterinarian clinic, Ridhima steps onto the weighing scale. When the boy asks her weight, she says, “49 kg.” He jokingly replies, “Moti ho.” On their ride back, she says, “Jisko jitni zarorat hoti hai woh utna hi use karta hai.” The moment feels small and ordinary, but the boy remembers it.
Two days later, he asks her again to go to the vet. She says her friend is ready to go instead. When he asks again, she says, “Mera 2 baje se college hai.” He replies, “Main 2 baje tak college chhod aaunga.” She asks, “Gudiya kaha hai?” He jokingly says, “Meri aur uski ladai hui hai.” She looks toward her friend and says, “Yaar dekha, kitne chalaak hai.” The boy asks her to come, and she finally says, “Main 3 baje free hongi, shaam ko chalte hain.”
Later that day, they go to the veterinarian together on the scooty again. During the ride, the boy asks her what she loves the most. She says she loves watching cricket. He asks, “Who is your favourite player? And don't say Virat.” She replies that her favourite is MS Dhoni.
At the vet clinic, Ridhima again steps onto the weighing scale. The boy watches her through the glass from inside the clinic and notices that her weight is now 56 kg. Their interaction has a playful, comfortable feeling.
On the ride home, the boy tells Ridhima about his dream of opening a sweet shop and a blacksmith shop someday. Instead of dismissing the dream, she surprisingly asks, “Why not now?” Her question makes him feel that she genuinely supports his dream.
Before they reach home, he asks her one final, deeper question: “Why Dhoni?” She explains that she likes Dhoni because of the way he handles pressure and remains calm and cool-minded.
The boy reflects on this. He also loves Dhoni, but for a completely different reason. Dhoni was the first cricketer he remembers watching as a child, and after learning about Dhoni’s story, he became a huge fan. He realizes that although they both admire the same person, they see him in completely different ways.
The manga should feel natural, realistic, emotional, and slow-burn rather than overly dramatic. Focus on subtle expressions, awkward moments, small conversations, meaningful glances, realistic environments, and the gradual development of a connection between two ordinary people. Use cinematic manga panels, expressive character faces, realistic backgrounds, and Hindi dialogue where appropriate.
